Plan Your Visit

Services generally last about one hour. The 9:30 am service includes more traditional music, while the 11:00 am service includes more modern music. The 9:30 am service is interpreted for the deaf.

Our pastor brings a Bible-based sermon for about 30 minutes. If you would like to hear messages online you can visit our sermon archive.

First-time guests are invited to park in our First-Time Guest Parking area on Avenue B. We also have a Guest parking in Lot 11 at the corner of Lee Avenue and Avenue B. For those who need to drop off passengers, a covered drive-through is available in that parking lot (the side closest to University Avenue). This entrance is close to our Preschool area, the Coffee Shop, and an Information Center.

Our Welcome Team will greet you, assist with checking in your kids, and answer any questions you may have. Greeters are stationed by the Information Centers just inside Entrance A on Barry Street and at the Avenue B entrance to help guide and assist you.

We want you to feel comfortable and welcome just as you are! You’ll see a range of styles, from casual attire to dressier outfits, so feel free to wear what you’d normally feel good in for a gathering. Whether it’s jeans, khakis, a dress, or a suit, the most important thing is that you’re here. We’re just glad to worship together with you!

First Baptist Lafayette is a Southern Baptist Church that operates independently of any denominational control. By partnering with Southern Baptists for missions and other world-wide ministry efforts, we are able to offer not only our community, but other communities a culturally-relevant worship experience as laid out in God’s Word.

At the end of the pastor's message, he will invite those who would like to become part of our church family to come forward. We sing a song during this time so that people can come to the front and talk to one of our ministers about their needs.

If you would like to become a part of First Baptist Lafayette you can do so by:

• By profession of faith: If you are not yet a Christian but would like to be, or if you are a Christian and have never been baptized by immersion as a believer, our minister will pray with you and guide you in this decision.
• By transfer of letter: If you are a Christian and a member of another church we will write to that church and request that a letter of transfer is sent.
• By statement: If you are a Christian and have been baptized as a believer, but do not have a current membership in another church, we can receive your membership on affirmation of the above.
